Privacy Notice

Data We Collect

We collect the information you give us during discovery (your city, postcode, travel radius, minimum rating, cuisine exclusions and special requirements) purely to find your matches. If you create an account, we also store your name and email address.

Your Account

Creating an account is optional and takes only your name and email. Your account lets you save and revisit favourites and manage your personal data. You do not need an account to use the discovery flow.

Favourites

When you favourite a restaurant, we store a snapshot of it (name, cuisine, area, rating, features and an image) linked to your account so you can return to it later. Each member only ever sees their own favourites.

How We Use Your Location

If you opt in to 'Use my current location', your device location is used only to centre your restaurant search. It is not stored or used to identify you across sessions.

Cookies And Local Storage

We use minimal local storage to remember your last search and to avoid showing you the Restaurant of the Day pop-up twice in one session. We don't use advertising cookies.

Third-Party APIs

To show restaurant details and live ratings, Dishy uses Google Places for address, phone number, website and opening hours. Our Star Score also references public ratings from TripAdvisor, OpenTable, Zomato, Trustpilot, Foursquare and Restaurant Guru. These providers may have their own privacy practices that apply when you visit them directly.

Data Retention And Deletion

Your favourites stay saved until you remove them or delete your account. Deleting your account wipes every favourite you have stored and clears the personal data we hold about you (your name). You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. The underlying platform account (your email) is managed by Base44; contact Base44 support if you need it fully removed.

Your Rights

You can clear your saved search and local storage at any time from your browser. To erase the data we store about you, use the delete account option, which removes all your favourites and personal data.
